The End of the Story

For some reason, whenever I finish a story, especially one I've worked on for a while, I feel a loss of sorts. Today I submitted Lady Silver, which means I'm finished with it for now. Maybe forever. The characters have disappeared as they always do when their story is over, their conflicts resolved. They are out there somewhere living happily ever after. As for me, my creative mind is at rest when it comes to them. However, there are several other characters, some new and some from old projects, who are clamoring for attention. The new ones want their story told and the old ones want theirs rewritten. They all want on the stage so I won't be alone with my thoughts for long. Some of them will claim my attention and my heart for a few weeks or even months. I have to say I'm looking forward to that, to being in the company of story people once again. It's just hard to decide which story!

It has been another steamy day with no end in sight this week. My trip to Alabama this weekend got moved to August because Beverly has got a book deadline to meet. Due to the heat I was glad we changed it. Not that it'll be any cooler in August, but maybe it'll be easier to tolerate by then. Tomorrow night, America's Got Talent begins! I'm looking forward to it. A young singer from this area made it through the tryouts.

That's all for tonight.

Much luck with the submission!

My current WIP, which I'm now in the final editing stages, is the one I've worked the longest on. Years, literally. So I'm curious how I will feel once it's finally done. The characters have been a part of me for such a long time.

Luckily, I have tons of other characters waiting in my head.

Congrats, Trisha, on finishing and, most importantly, submitting!

We're getting that heat up here now. Heat advisory today but I know who hot it can get down there!

Stay cool!
