I'm always glad when Friday rolls around! I don't know who invented weekends but I'm happy they did. Tomorrow I'll be fraternizing with other writers at the monthly Heart of Dixie meeting. I have not been to a meeting since last September. Best of all, I'm getting together with some of the members at Cracker Barrel for lunch. That will be my favorite part of the trip.
I did watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward, Robert Ford. It is an indy film and probably one of the more accurate films made about Jesse James. They mentioned his eye condition, his missing fingertip and his nickname, Dingus, in this movie. It wasn't a Western and the pace was slow as it focused on character more than action. I thought the acting in this movie was really good, especially Affleck and Pitt. I don't think Affleck will win the Oscar but he did deserve the nomination. Also the cinematography is excellent.
Last night, I watched the ending of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader. I was so hoping that girl would win the million and when the category was American History, I had thought she had a good chance until I heard the question. Who was the first American pilot to break the sound barrier? I had no clue either. Even when they said it was a pilot named Yager, the name didn't ring any bells. Unfortunately, she lost a lot of money but she had a good attitude. I would have been laid out on the floor wailing!!!
