Surprise Lilies always pop up in mid-September. We've had gray skies all week so I haven't had any light to get a good photo of them. They are a bright orange and this year an entire row of them appeared! To me, they herald the beginning of fall. I've also got my scarecrows on the porch as well.

Donna: They just come up. I didn't plant them. I think that is why they are called Surprise Lilies. They surprise you!
