Happy Halloween!

Tis the night before Halloween and I hope you have your broom ready and your pumpkins lit!

I hate to see this month end so quickly. It is one of my favorite months. I've always loved the fall, especially the warm colors. This October has been a busy month for me. I just got back from a trip to Houston. Last week was my son's birthday so I went to see him and we had a good visit. He has bought a lovely home. I especially liked the backyard that borders a lake with a fountain. Also, his girlfriend had a precious pet, Dixie, whom I adored.

I also went to the Lone Star Writers Conference on Saturday. My historical had placed in the historical category of their contest and I'm pleased to say it won! Winning was definitely a big surprise, followed by another surprise. I got a request to submit the manuscript to both the editor and agent who were the finalist judges. Needless to say, I'm still working on revisions and I hope to have them done by the end of November.

The time changes this weekend!! It'll be dark by 5 but we'll get more sleep so they say. Who can't use that??

That's great news, Dixie Belle! Major congrats and good luck with the revisions and with the editor and agent. That's so great!

Yeah, I hate to see October leave so soon. Around here, November means snow or getting close to snow. December, very likely snow. January, definitely snow! And after the over 100 inches we got last winer I could seriously go at least five years with no snow whatsoever :)

It's great to hear that everything is going so wonderfully for you. After reading your work though, it's no surprise whatsoever.

My family and I have decided to stay put right here in seasonal New England, so Texas is officially out. I'm happy that my kids are going to grow up where they went to Kindergarten.
