Waiting and Writing

I have to say, lately, I had an eventful life. This past week I got an email from another contest coordinator, letting me I had made the finals in the Melody of Love contest. I do not have any more entries out so that much is concluded. I was very thrilled to get the news. My entry goes onto an editor at Dorchester for final judging.

A couple of hours later, I got a call from the couple who had looked at my house. They got an approval and they said they would know this week when the closing date is. I'm like OMG!!! Actually, I nearly croaked. The timing could not be worse. However I have to make the best of this and keep working on my revisions.

I had so hoped I would be done with the book by October. Of course, now that moving soon may become a reality, there's no way I can do that. But I am working on the manuscript every day. I did pick up some boxes and I'm stacking them in the guest bedroom. But I'm not packing anything. I learned that lesson the hard way.

I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch!

Sounds like insanity to me. We've wanted to move for a long time now, but we've decided selling the house would be too much after having moved here a couple years ago.

And congrats again on your entry and all the good news!

This is what we call "Dramatic Irony"--it's the stuff of fiction. Mother went to the hospital last evening. Talk about irony. If I had had some good whiskey, I'd had a couple of hot toddies when I got home this morning.
