I hate to see the weekend come to a close. I've had a productive weekend writing-wise. After a few hits and misses, I hit my stride with Chapter 4 and completed it. The chapter will need some polishing up later on but no more changes. I think it does define the hero, which was what I was trying to accomplish. What I didn't expect was how the ending of the chapter finally played out and left open the possibility for a funny conflict I hadn't planned. That is what I enjoy about writing. The sudden twist or surprise that isn't in my outline but grows out of the interaction between characters. Now, I feel excited about beginning Chapter 5.
We had a little rain this weekend and my garden plants are growing so fast! I have little squashes and okras. Plus the tomato plants have bloomed.
I hope this week is a good week for everyone!!

Hoo boy do I know what you mean about that sudden twist that just develops out of the clear blue. Is there a better feeling?
I'm ready for a little fried squash or okra....and a tall iced tea...Happy writing sweetie!!hughugs
No, Scott, there's not a better feeling. I suppose it is why we write. For that one moment when we are trudging along with our ordinary words and suddenly the extraordinary happens.
I love when I find my "stride" as well as the unexpected twist ;)
I wish I would have at least planted a tomato plant this year... sigh. Next Year!
