Rising Wind by Cindy Holby

I finished this book yesterday and I put it on my A list. The video gives you the pitch for this story. If you like the Last of the Mohicans time period and adventure background, you'll love this page-turner. I bought it because it was set in America and I like American settings but they are difficult to come by. Overall, it is a tender love story with characters I rooted for. At first, during a scene at a ball had the heroine acting screwball, which I didn't care for but, fortunately, she doesn't act that way all through the book. She and Conner, the hero, made a strong couple during the last half of the book. In keeping with history, the book has some torture scenes in it and it is accurate that the Shawnees burned their prisoners alive. I have an old book called Held Captive by the Indians. It contains accounts of captives that survived and escaped. The stories are brutal. This book contains no graphic language or explicit sex. No C words, Jane!! LOL
