Lately, I've been getting my share of hate spam regarding Obama. Although they skirt the issue of racism, the truth is between-the-lines. If you have one white parent and one of another race, how come that automatically makes you the other race? Even if you are one-eighth African American, Hispanic, Asian or Native American, then you are not white. What does that say about the Caucasian race? Either both your parents are 100% white or you are not one of us. You are one of them. That has always seemed a bit odd to me.
The latest tactic against the half/black, half/white candidate is the attempt to win over the religious right (I'm assuming because I don't know anyone else who'd buy into it) by claiming that Obama is the Anti-Christ. Actually, there have been many people revealed to be the Anti-Christ over the past centuries.
Obama is in good if not amusing company.
Here's a short list of subjects who have been revealed to be The Anti-Christ
Barak Obama /Newest Anti-Christ
Bill Gates/ Geeky Anti-Christ
Prince Charles/ Royal Anti-Christ
Chris Moore/ DJ Anti-Christ
Ronald Reagan/ Alzheimer Anti-Christ
Napoleon /Short Anti-Christ
Hitler/ Dictator Anti-Christ
Bill Clinton /Booty Anti-Christ
W/ Failed English Anti-Christ
All the Catholic Popes /Hail Mary Anti-Christ
Harry Potter/ Fictional wizard Anti-Christ
Russian Ex-Pres Putin /Red Anti-Christ
David Hasselhof/Bay Watch Anti-Christ

Great post, Dixie Belle!
My daughter is mixed race -- 50% White, 50% Asian (my husband is Japanese), and a talented, beautiful, smart, exciting, dynamic young woman who is committed to helping others and making the world a better place. She's also noted that people don't seem to see her as "white," although she's no more Japanese than she's white, being exactly 50-50.
Such is the same for Obama, and I always wonder about the attempts to deny his whiteness. Like my daughter, he's "50-50," which means he's BOTH, and I think that's a wonderful, hopeful state to be in.
Maybe I'm an antiChrist, too, who knows? But I'm a woman of faith who prays to Jesus and who thanks God every morning for my life and the privilege of living this day, so I certainly hope I'm not an antiChrist. (smile.)
I ask all of us who are believers to ask ourselves: didn't God create all of us?
Thanks for taking the risk of writing this post. And I'm so sorry about the hate mail. Try to disregard it.
