Weekend Update

I didn't realized I hadn't posted in a while. Life and time have a way ofslipping by all too quickly! I'm glad April has arrived and today we have been blessed with some sunshine after weeks of gray skies and rain. I am ready fordry, warm summer days.

My birthday was Friday and it wasthe beginningof a really nice weekend. I was treated to lunch by a goodfriend and received some lovely cards and calls. I did have a great weekend. I had some friends over for lunch Saturday. After they left, I settled in for a quiet evening of reading.

The house was quiet except for my water fountain and I chilled out in therecliner with Naomi Bellis's book, Theft of Shadows. I definitely enjoyed this book. It was a wonderful blend of historical romance and paranormal suspense. Gabriel and Anne were terrific characters. I just loved them both.

I really enjoyed how the author let the story and the romance develop naturally, without seemingly forcing Gabriel and Anne to be together just because "this is a romance, therefore the characters must be thrown together constantly". The last half is definitely a page-turner as the suspense builds to a stunning end. Five stars!!!This is the first book I've read by Bellis but I am going to buy her two previous books.
