April 20, 2008

I notice new buds on my old rose bush. It won't be long until they are in bloom. Unfortunately, after many years, I lost my beautiful Japanese crab apple tree. I thought the drought killed it but since I haven't seen any other dead trees, I've decided a disease must have taken it.

This coming week marks a year ago that I lost a dear friend. This weekend was her last. Thinking of her loss has made me think about my own life and how important it is to live what you consider a good life. To do the things that make you happy. That was the example she set. She lived a good life, filled with family, good friends and faith. I will always miss her unfailing encouragement and grace.

I have set a goal of getting my book finished before August. I have decided not to put my house up for sale this summer so I can devote time to this book. It is just too hard to keep a house ready to show at a moment's notice, work full-time and write as well. It is too stressful and I would just like to have one year that is not a circus. Between trying to sell house, deals falling through and job hunting over the past couple of years, my life has been nerve-wracking. I just want to go off and live in my fantasy for a while. Can you blame me?

I don't blame you either! I feel like I am in the same place where you are right now... so I completely relate!

I agree. The last two years have been crazy for me too, and the last three month worse. Things seem to be calming down a bit, but we'll see. Glad to see you posting.
