What is truly amazing is that Cindy's book, No Greater Glory, is a Civil War romance!! In the publishing industry, the Civil War is the worst setting ever, along with most any other time period in America. I don't know why America is unpopular. True, our ancestors weren't perfect and they didn't have useless titles, but, hey, some of the best heroes in fiction are Americans! Rhett Butler. What else needs to be said? I mean when you look at choosing between Rhett and Mr. Darcy, well, frankly, my dear, that is no contest!!

Oh Yes...Rhett! Congratulations to your friend! What an accomplishment!!hughugs
Congrats to Cindy! I was thrilled to hear a Civil War story finaled. Its one of my favorite time periods to read and write. My first romance had a civil war setting. And don't even get me started on my love of westerns...:)
YEA Cindy!!! Three cheers!!! that's Awesome news!!!!
Go Cindy!
Congrats to your friend. That's exciting.
As a judge for the GH, I can tell you that I didn't pay attention the othe marketing angle at all, just the writing.
America used to be very popular. In the 1980's authors like Shirlee Busbee wrote sweeping novels which took place in the early 1800's in the south. And I remember reading a lot of Civil War romances as well.
The first novel I wrote was a story set in Colonial Williamsburg before the Revolution. It got rejected before anyone got to actually read how bad it was. No one was interested in an American historical.
