Christmas Eve

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas Eve and that tomorrow will be a day of joy for you!

Despite my longing to do nothing this Christmas, I have been out in the thick of things every day. Friday, I trekked over to Alabama, through the Muscle Shoals area and onto Huntsville. The traffic was unreal. Plus I got behind a funeral procession on the highway. Now, down here, we still have a great deal of respect for a person's last ride in this life. So no one went around the procession which was led by a police car. Of course, they didn't move along too fast and people who came up behind me would hit the left lane only to see what was going on and drop back. The cars on the opposite side of the highway were all stopping in respect so it slowed everyone down. But I had already made up my mind that I was not going to let the driving get on my nerves. So I rolled along, pretty good until I got to the mall in Huntsville. By this time it was getting dark and I couldn't believe at the people there. I had to wait in line just to get in the parking lot. I'm thinking, anyone heard of shopping early???

I found my son who waiting at the mall for me to pick him up. We did some shopping and ate at a barbecue place called Dreamland. It was really good. I loved their baked beans. We got home around eleven that night and I passed out!

For Christmas, my son put a new hard drive in my desktop. He also had to install a DVD drive in it so he could load the operating system. It is so fast now! I copied my photos, around 700 of them, onto a CD in about 2 minutes if that long. This stunned me as before it usually took a long time. Before I only had a CD burner that was about five years old. He also bought me a computer desk when we were in Huntsville and he got that put together. I love it. I'll post a photo when I get my room done. It's a huge mess right now. I haven't done any cleaning sine I've been doing a lot of cooking.

Saturday night we watched I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. It was so funny. Definitely a good little movie to watch for laughs. Yesterday we saw Transformers. Transformers were my son's favorite toys back in the day. Actually, it was a very entertaining movie. I think older kids and adults would really like it. I did!
