I spent most of the weekend working on my manuscript. Some new writing and some revisions. I enjoy the revision process because after you get down the bare bones of a story, then you can add the flesh. This is the most fun I've had writing in a while. I think it is because the story has a historical setting and I love stories set in the past.
I am reading a little book I got at the library called "Three Years With Quantrell". It's non-fiction, an account written by one of his scouts. It is a gem of historical information. Plus there are two Jesse James documentaries in the mail to me from Net Flix.
I did flip on the news when I ate a sandwich this afternoon and it seems the drought in the South is only getting worse. In some communities in Georgia, they were told they might be out of water by the first of the year. Another friend of mine told me she'd heard this was the longest drought we'd had since the Great Depression. I'm afraid I am going to lose my ornamental tree in the front yard. I've tried to water it a few times but it has already lost most of its leaves.
I suppose I should watch the news more often. Today was the first time in weeks but it is always bad news about the war in Iraq, the economy, the health care situation. Have you ever noticed how many commercials there are during the news. They are like every three or four minutes. It seems like there are about 25 commercials in 30 minutes and 90 percent are drug company ads!!! Pills for everything!! Then, there is the presidential candidates! Argh! Just let me hide in my writing room far away from all this.......

I agree 100% about the ads, I just watch the local news then shut it off...Candidates? Where?.(tongue in cheek):{
I hate those commercials because 99 percent of those drugs cause side effects so horrible that you'd better think twice before taking them.
Congrats on the revisions.
