Make Your Own Skin Cream

Pictured are the ingredients you'll need for making a terrific moisturizer. Last Christmas, a friend of mine, who makes her own gifts, gave me "Friendship Cream". A homemade skin cream which I loved. Also a former coworker makes it and sells it. She gave me a small jar as going-away gift. Recently, I used up the last of the cream and I decided to make a batch myself.

The ingredients required are baby lotion, Vitamin E cream and Vaseline. You can also add Vitamin E oil or sunblock lotion if you like. I combined the entire container of Vitamin E cream, 4 oz., with half the bottle of lotion and three tablespoons of the Vaseline. That made a texture I liked. You can start out with small amounts and add more of the ingredients until you come up with a cream that is to your liking. Remember the lotion will make it thinner and the Vaseline thicker. I also emptied some Vitamin E, from capsules, in my cream. My friend told me she had done that. If you like fragrance, you can try the new baby lotions that have fragrance like lavender instead of the pink lotion. After I finished, I put the cream in the empty Vitamin E jar as well as the two small glass jars my friends had used. I also plan to save my current Olay skin cream jar to recycle. Remember to be kind to Mother Earth and recycle when you can! This cream will make your skin super-soft and works great beneath makeup. You can splash your face with water and then apply cream. The Vaseline will help hold in the moisture. It contains the key ingredients used in expensive department store creams. Instead of paying $$$, I have enough to last over 6 months and it cost around $2.50 to make. Cost breakdown: Baby Lotion 1.00, used 50 cents worth, Vaseline 1.00, used 50 cents worth. Vitamin E skin cream 1.50. Note on Vitamin E cream: My friend bought the Vitamin E cream she used at the dollar store for a buck and it works great.
