Deep Summer

If it hasn't been deep summer this weekend, it never will be. The heat has been stifling and it shows no sign of letting up this coming week. Since I have very little tolerance for the heat, I stayed in most of the time except for a couple of trips to the store.

I finished Blood Memory by Greg Iles. A very well-written dark story that haunted me after I finished it. It is definitely not for people who like fluffy stories or typical heroines/heroes. His characters are very much like real people, a mix of admirable and dishonorable traits. He does excellent descriptions as well as plot surprises.

I rented Premonitions and found it a muddled mess of a story. This weekend I watched Lady Chatterley, which was rather bland except for Sean Bean running around naked in it. I didn't expect it to have a HEA ending.

I'm hoping our local theater will show Stardust and Elizabeth. I'd love to see both of them and I haven't been to the theater in ages. Of course, I definitely want to see 3:10 to Yuma next month. I watched the trailer online. The movie poster isn't too great. It kinda looks like a guy about to dance to a Village People song or something.

I have finally got everything in my writing/computer rooms situated and the equipment is up and running. My son had to remote into this computer to fix a few things. I'm so glad it is working better now!

As I write, I'm printing off a copy of a historical I wrote a while back. I'm going to read and edit it. See if it holds any promise. I'm also working on a short story, that I plan to finish this week. That's a goal so I will post my progress!
