The Easel From Hobby Lobby With No Instructions

Since this post about the easel seems to be the most popular one on my blog, attracting many people who had bought the same easel, I have decided to add directions. The two pieces that form the shelf are placed: the one with the indentation on the outside of the legs and the other one behind the legs. Then you use the long bolt thingy with the loop at the end to connect the two pieces together and you then clip the chain to the loop. You can check out the photo. Below is my story! LOL

Several weeks ago, I bought this easel on sale at Hobby Lobby. I have wanted one for a long time. I thought it would be handy for plot boards, story photos and notes. I think MJ has used one for that purpose. Needless to say, it came in pieces and there were no instructions with it as to how to put it together. I'm not one of those people who can assemble something without instructions but I made a valiant effort. Matching legs up and figuring out what screw went where. But I was stumped when it came to attaching the shelf part to the legs. After several attempts and a few hot flashes, I gave up. I emailed customer service at Hobby Lobby, demanding instructions.

Lo and behold, a rep replied. She was very nice and explained she couldn't find the product. So I emailed her back everything that was written on the label. I got another email from her saying she was going to contact the manufacturer. A couple of nights ago, while I was trying to go to sleep, I had a idea pop in my head as to how it might fit together. The next day I tried it and Presto! I have an easel.

I got it for around $7.50 so it wasn't expensive.

hah - ingenious. I've always used large dry erase boards at the local university to plot out the overall plot - but something like this would be great (and more convenient). Nice.
